Legal and accounting review
When the Vindex team sends a case to the review teams, a reviewer at the law firm and one at the accounting firm each give their opinion, side by side. This page is for them.
Your dashboard
Dashboard lists the cases assigned to you and to your firm, with what each is waiting for. You see only cases assigned to you. Open one to make it your active case; History keeps the cases you have finished.
Good to know
The legal and accounting teams review at the same time, not one after the other. Either may finish first, and neither waits for the other.
The opinion page
Opinion opens the case in tabs, the first of them written for your team:
Screening for reviewers
The Screening tab shows every possible match, and switches to AI mode for a briefing written for your team: legal reviewers get identity, authority and sanctions exposure; accounting reviewers get the money, the risk and the monitoring. See AI mode.
Asking the customer
Use it whenyou cannot give an opinion on what is on file.
- 1
On your team's notes tab, under Customer request, choose the request type: clarification, profile update, document upload or document re-upload.
- 2
Name the document if there is one, and write the message to the customer: exactly what needs to change or be uploaded, and why.
- 3
Press Send request. The case waits for the customer, and comes back to you with their response.
Careful
A case has one open request at a time, and can go back to the customer five times in all. While your request is open, your opinion cannot be submitted.
Recording your opinion
- 1
Open your team's opinion tab and choose the outcome (1).
- 2
Write the rationale (2): what you relied on and why. Add any conditions and follow-up actions (3), separated by semicolons.
- 3
Accounting reviewers also set the AML risk level and how often the case should be monitored.
- 4
Press Submit legal opinion or Submit accounting opinion (4).
What you will see
Your sign-off
The customer's outcome letter prints your signature, name and licence number. Add your signature and proof of licence on Profile before you submit; until you do, the opinion tab reminds you and the letter says they are missing.
When the two opinions disagree
If the legal and accounting opinions conflict, for example one approves and the other rejects, the case is escalated for senior resolution. A senior reviewer weighs both and the Vindex team records how the conflict was resolved before deciding. See The final decision.
