AI mode

A screening can return dozens of matches, each with a long record. AI mode reads all of it and gives you a briefing: the verdict at a glance, the records side by side, and what to do next.

Turn on AI mode

Use it whena case's screening has come back with matches, and you want to understand it quickly.

  1. 1

Open the case's Evidence tab and go to Screening results. Reviewers find the same under their case's Screening tab.

  2. 2

    Switch on AI mode.

  3. 3

Choose who the briefing is for: Compliance, Legal or Accounting. Reviewers start on their own.

  4. 4

If no briefing has been written for that reader yet, press Write the briefing. It takes under a minute.

What you will see

The briefing, in tabs, with the overview open. It is kept with the case: the next person to open it sees the same one.

Tip

Press Write again after the screening changes, for example when more full records have been loaded or ongoing screening has added a match.

The top of AI mode's Overview. Illustration with an invented case.

The overview is built to be read in seconds:

The verdict
An overall risk dial and a one-sentence conclusion, with the summary under it. Long wording is folded behind More.
Four tiles
Is it the same party; how many sanctions lists name it; how many of the people screened match a sanctioned record; how many full records were read.
The closest record
The match most likely to be the customer, with which details agree and which do not.
Do now
The actions that matter first, from the action plan.
Key findings
Each finding with its severity, most serious first, and the records it rests on.

The figures, marks and charts are counted from the records themselves, not written by the AI. Only the wording is.

Records, people and timeline

Records
Every match in a list on the left, and the chosen one on the right in its own tabs: the AI's reading of it, and the record itself (profile, connections, lists, names and IDs, sources). Two records can be compared side by side.
People
For a company, each director and owner, their role and holding, and how their own screening came out.
Timeline
Where and when the records were listed: the countries and bodies that list them, a chart of listings by year, and the dated events.

Action plan and advice

The action plan sorts what to do into do now, do soon and can wait, each with the reason, and lists the questions worth putting to the customer, such as a date of birth that would settle a match.

The advice tab is written for the reader chosen at the top. Compliance gets the decision path; legal gets identity, authority and sanctions exposure; accounting gets the money and the monitoring. What it rests on shows how much of the screening the briefing covered, and what it could not check.

Source summaries

World-Check records cite their sources: news articles, sanctions notices, regulators' pages. Vindex reads them and says, for each one, what it says about the party, whether it names the party at all, and the passages that matter, quoted from the page.

Read automatically
The sources of the strongest records start being read as soon as a case is screened, and more are read whenever a report is made.
On a record's Sources tab, press Read the next 6 to read further.
Dead links
When a page no longer exists, Vindex reads the Internet Archive's copy instead and says which date it is from. Pages behind a login or a robot check are not read.

What the sources say also goes into the case report, under Media and source summary. See The case report.

What AI mode does not do

  • It does not decide anything. A possible match stays possible until a person resolves it, and the case's decision is the Vindex team's.
  • It uses only the case's own screening. It adds nothing it may know about a name from anywhere else.
  • It says where the file is silent rather than guessing, and lists what it could not check.

Written by AI from the case's own data. It can be wrong or incomplete, and the decision is always a person's.
