Risk, decisions and reports
Every case ends in a decision, and every decision produces a record. This page covers the risk score that guides it, the deeper checks a riskier case gets, how the decision is made, and the reports that follow.
The risk score
When the automatic checks finish, Vindex scores the case from 0 to 100 and gives it one of four ratings. The score weighs the screening results, the countries involved, the customer's declarations, and how the checks came out.
Enhanced due diligence
EDD is the deeper review a riskier case gets: evidence of the source of funds, and senior approval. It opens automatically when a case rates high, involves a high-risk country, the customer declares they are politically exposed, or the screening returns matches; the Vindex team or a reviewer can also open it by hand.
- 1
The EDD request lists what is needed, and the customer is asked for it.
- 2
The customer responds on their Status page.
- 3
The case returns to the review with the new evidence.
A low-risk case can go the other way: simplified due diligence gives it a shorter path to a decision, with annual monitoring.
The final decision
Use it whenboth opinions are in, from the review teams or accepted from the review agents.
- 1
Open Final Decision. Below the case summary are what the legal and accounting opinions concluded (1).
- 2
If the opinions conflict, name the senior reviewer and explain how the conflict was resolved, then press Resolve conflict.
- 3
Enter your password and press Confirm identity (2).
- 4
Choose the outcome (3) and the final risk rating (4).
- 5
Under the opinions, write the collated approval statement: the decision, the evidence it rests on, and any conditions. Then write the customer message they will see with it.
- 6
Press Publish final decision.
What you will see
What counts as a conflict
One team rejecting while the other does not; or both approving with conditions that have nothing in common. Two plain approvals with different notes are not a conflict.
The case report
The case report is the full record of the case, from first form to final decision. The customer and the Vindex team receive the same report, in the same layout; the Vindex team's copy adds the internal parts.

The outcome letter
The outcome letter is the formal notice of the decision: the outcome and what it means, the risk rating, the date, the conditions, the message to the customer, why the case was opened, and the signatures of the reviewers who gave the opinions. It is made once the decision is recorded.
Report delivery
When a case is approved, the case report and the outcome letter are emailed to the customer's report addresses. They are emailed rather than downloaded, and each report goes to each address once. Customers manage their addresses on Report delivery; see Where your reports go.
