Get started
Vindex is where a person or a company is verified before someone does business with them. This page shows who does what, how to sign in, where things are, and how a case travels from the first form to the final decision.
What Vindex is
Every verification in Vindex is a case. A case holds everything about one customer: who they are, why they are being checked, the documents they sent, the results of every automatic check, the screening against LSEG World-Check, the opinions of the legal and accounting reviewers, and the decision. Nothing about a case lives anywhere else, and every action on it is recorded.
On a typical case, Vindex:
- collects the customer's details and asks a few questions that fit why the case was opened
- reads each uploaded document, checks it is the kind of document it claims to be, and judges whether it is clear enough to rely on
- confirms with a short video selfie that a real person is completing the case
- screens the customer, and the directors and owners of a company, against LSEG World-Check for sanctions, politically exposed persons and other risk lists
- scores the risk, and has a legal and an accounting review agent assess the case straight away
- records a final decision and sends the customer their report and outcome letter
Words this guide uses
A case is one verification. A match is a World-Check record whose name is like the customer's, which a person still has to look at. An opinion is a legal or accounting reviewer's view of a case. The decision is the Vindex team's final word. The glossary has the rest.

Tip
Accounts for the Vindex team and the review firms are not made on the sign-up form. A Vindex administrator creates them on the Users page, and reviewers join from an invitation.
If it did not work
Press Forgot password to be sent a reset link. If Vindex says your email is not confirmed, press Confirm email and enter the code from the email it sent when you made the account.
Find your way around
The bar on the left lists the pages of your workspace. What is on it depends on your role. The top bar shows the case you have open, with a picker to switch to another, your notifications, and Update to fetch the latest. The bottom of the left bar has the colour theme (light, dark, or follow your device) and the language.
How a case moves
Every case follows the same stages. The ones marked automatic need nobody to press anything.
- 1CustomerThe case is filedDetails, documents and a video selfie.
- 2AutomaticChecks and screeningDocuments read, LSEG World-Check screen, risk score.
- 3AutomaticThe agents review itA legal and an accounting agent each decide.

- 6AutomaticReports go outThe case report and outcome letter, by email.
1. The case is filed. The customer opens a case, answers the questions for its purpose, uploads documents, records the video selfie, pays if a fee applies, and submits. File a case walks through it.
2. Checks and screening. Within moments of submission Vindex runs its automatic checks: the documents, the identity and registry checks configured for the customer's countries, and the LSEG World-Check screen of the customer and, for a company, each director and owner. It then scores the risk. See Screening with LSEG World-Check.
3. The agents review it. A legal agent and an accounting agent each read the file, open every document and hand back a decision. See Review agents.
4. Accept, or send to the teams. The Vindex team reads the agents' decisions. If they are satisfied they accept them; if not, they send the case to the legal and accounting firms for a person's opinion.
5. Final decision and 6. reports. With both opinions in, the Vindex team records the decision: approve, approve with conditions, or decline. The customer is told, and their case report and outcome letter are emailed. See Risk, decisions and reports.
If something is missing
At any stage a reviewer can ask the customer for more: a clearer copy of a document, another document, or an answer. The case waits for the customer and carries on when they reply. See Track your case.
